Occupational Therapist

Duties

  • Build trusting relationships for clients to feel safe to address difficulties, have fun, and build confidence to tackle the big challenges.

  • Gain an understanding of patients' occupational profile, strengths, motivations, and goals.

  • Provide individualized treatment to improve participation and success in patients' activities of daily living.

  • Involve caregivers in treatment for education, coaching and home program, and therapeutic interventions. 

  • Design and prescribe assistive activities, accommodations, and home programs.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent clinical judgement to plan and accomplish meaningful and attainable goals

  • Creativity to adapt intervention to patients' lifestyle and motivations

  • Sensitivity and receptivity to clients' individual culture, needs, differences in ability, personality, and interests

  • Excellent verbal and written expression, strong and timely documentation skills

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing organizational needs

Working Environment / Physical Activity

  • This job involves physical activities in clinical spaces and therapy gyms that require considerable movement of the whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, hanging, rigging, and handling of suspended equipment for individuals who require movement and sensorimotor interventions.

Qualifications

  • Occupational Therapy degree from a program that has been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education or the American OT Association

  • Eligibility for or current Oregon licensure 

  • Previous clinical experience in pediatrics, relationship-based and sensory-based interventions preferred.

Schedule

We offer flexibility in scheduling, and are open to full-time and part-time positions. 

In addition to weekdays, evening and weekend shifts are available.
